Apple Announce iPhone X, iPhone 8 and Watch Series 3

Apple Watch Series 3

Watch OS4 will introduce Autoset and Gymkit to allow you to tap the watch against compatible gym equipment to automatically sync with that equipment. The Apple watch will also check for elevated heart rates outside workout periods to notify users or irregular heart rates and rhythms.

Apple Watch 3 will have GPS and the top model in the series will have cellular capabilities - allowing you to make and receive calls without a phone being paired.

The starting price of the series 3 watches will be 329 USD without cellular and 399 USD with cellular. The series 1 watch will still be available for 249 USD. The cellular versions of the watch are expected to be available from the following networks at launch or shortly thereafter.

Apple TV with 4K HDR

Apple TV will now feature the ability to play 4K High Dynamic Range videos.

It will be using the new A10X Chip. Apple has been working to bring more 4K titles to iTunes. The Price starts at 179 USD.

iPhone 8

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus were also announced in silver, space grey and gold finishes in 7000 Series custom aluminium alloy chassis. The iPhone 8 series of phones feature the most durable glass found in a phone. iPhone TrueTone technology will match colour temperature of the display to that of the environment surrounding you. The Phones will use the new A11 Bionic CPU and new Graphics Processing Unit that is 30% faster than the older A10 (see the iPhone X section below for more details).

The new camera can capture 1080p 240fps Video and the new iPhones are targeted to Augmented Reality applications. The A11 Bionic chip handles world tracking for Augmented Reality applications. A demonstrated app included one that could track and annotate the stars.

The new iPhone also features stereo speakers and wireless charging supporting the Chi standard. Prices start at 699 USD.

iPhone X

iPhone X also-known-as the iPhone 10, comes in Space Grey colour and in a Silver shade; both featuring edge-to-edge glass. The Super Retina display is 5.8" on the diagonal and uses the highest resolution display to date with OLED technology. The display features a 1 million to one contrast ratio that integrates TrueTone (like the iPhone 8) and supports HDR.

The phone will also use the A11 Bionic CPU as per the iPhone 8 series.

The A11 Bionic Neural Engine allows facial unlocking using the front facing technologies; and works both in day or night, with or without glasses. The feature requires user attention to unlock - that is your eyes must be looking towards the phone as you swipe up from below. Existing Touch ID will work with Face ID.

Animojis are animated emojis that can be controlled using your face. They map your real-time facial expression to that of the chosen emoji.

The iPhone X will be available in 64 and 256 GB versions. The starting price is 999 USD.
